In 1986, Star Gems, Inc. was co-founded and started in Chicago, IL by Anish Desai and Vilas Jain. The company has offices located in Chicago, Atlanta and Mumbai, India. Star Gems, Inc. is one of the world ’s finest loose diamond importers and international jewelry manufacturers with a solid reputation in the Jewelry Industry.

Star Gems, Inc. is an international success, known for their state-of-the-art equipment and expert staff of jewelers who are located in the renowned Santacruz Electronics Export Processing Zone (SEEPZ Export Zone). Billions of dollars worth of jewelry are exported from the SEEPZ Export Zone every year. Considering the vast opportunity and the pollution-free nature of the gem and jewelry industry, the Government of India decided to permit the manufacturing and exporting of gem and jewelry items from SEEPZ Export Zone since 1973. Here over 300 skilled workers manage the production cycle and design work of the world renowned“Vogue Collection“.

Chicago ’s manufacturing location deals strictly in the import and distribution of loose diamonds, while the Atlanta location expanded their offerings and branched into the manufacturing of fine finished diamond jewelry. Star Gems, Inc. Atlanta has manufactured thousands of styles of fine jewelry in such categories as rings, earrings, pendants, bridal, wedding and anniversary bands and one of the largest selection in the Jewelry Industry in Engagement rings.

Vogue Fine Jewelry, LLC (“the Company “) is an emerging branded jewelry line that is an offshoot of the product line and marketing operations established through over 25 years in the industry by Star Gems, Inc. Vogue uses the traditional wholesale manufacturing operation established through Atlanta-based Star Gems, allowing it to source, design, and manufacture its entire collection of jewelry, selling to the public through an international network of independent jewelry retailers and online stores.

Star Gems has been a leading manufacturers of designer, bridal engagement rings, and high-end fashion jewelry, including earrings, pendants, and bracelets. It also offers much more than just jewelry, with one of the largest ideal make, certified (GIA, AGS, and EGL) diamond inventories in the Southeast, supplying anything from 0.50 and up to 5.00 carats, including natural and fancy colors. Under the new brand and tagline, Vogue, The World’sMost Captivating Jewelry, the Company offers retailers a catalog of 3,000-4,000 pieces from which to choose. Vogue’s retailers also have the ability to offer custom-designed pieces.

Vogue will only sell to independent jewelry stores, beginning with the over 300 stores across the U.S. that Star Gems already has an established relationship. With Vogue, these stores will be able to tap into the growth sector of branded collections - Vogue is a value-adding brand, complete with extensive print and online marketing, merchandising, and packaging support, along with a state-of-the-art e-commerce platform. Any customer request can be met, with the piece designed and manufactured at Vogue’s India facility. This combination of a large over-the-counter collection and custom manufacturing allows retailers to present customers a wide and ever-changing array of products, and at very competitive prices because Vogue cuts out the middlemen and passes along the savings.

Marketing for Vogue consists of an in-house sales force, penetrating the independent jewelry market in the United States. There are approximately 20,000 independent stores, and Vogue intends to reach 10% or so of these. As part of its assistance to retailer partners, Vogue Fine Jewelry will also enact a national market campaign, grow a social media presence, and launch Internet marketing initiatives. National branding will be in bridal magazines and publications such as the Rob Report and major fashion magazines, as well as at red carpet events through celebrities wearing Vogue pieces.

Already, Star Gems, Inc. supported the development and growth of Vogue into approximately 70 independent retail jewelry stores at the end of 2011. In addition, Star Gems has been developing the design and manufacturing capabilities for Vogue, establishing the brand presence, showcase displays and elements for the retailers, and creating marketing and media products and programs. The web-based support group in India has evolved and grown its support of Vogue, and is continuing to grow their capabilities for Vogue ’s retailers to include SEO and SMO services. It is also presently beta testing e-commerce capabilities to be offered to Vogue retailers going forward.
